Areas of Expertise

Business Assessment and strategy

Today's retail environment is more competitive than ever. An objective assessment of your organization's strengths and challenges along with a full understanding of the competitive landscape is the starting point for determining an action plan for growth and financial improvement.

Merchandising

Assortment and promotion remain the lifeblood of the retailer's offering, and great retailers have a reputation that gives them a competitive advantage.  Understanding what consumers want and how to present it is critical. Locally sourced products, ethnic product and promotional opportunities, current trends, attractive seasonal merchandising and proper assortment are critical in helping the successful retailer create customer experiences that bring them back.

operations

There is little room for error or inefficiency in today's marketplace. Competent management is key to a profitable operation. The successful implementation of industry proven best practices can benefit any retailer looking to improve store conditions, customer experience and ultimately sales and profits.

marketing

Few things have changed and are changing as rapidly as retail marketing. The emergence of social media and digital marketing have changed how customers are reached and how they shop. The successful retailer uses marketing to understand who the customer is, how to reach them and how to manage brand reputation. We help retailers understand their marketing opportunities, from advertising to online shopping.

leadership development and coaching

Culture is the only sustainable competitive advantge. An organization's greatest asset is its people. Understanding employees' passions and showing them how their contribution is part of the organization's success unleashes their potential. Time and again, the best led teams outperform more talented ones. "Everything rises and falls on leadership"--John Maxwell.

speaking

Whether it be for motivating your team or addressing your management staff, Larry can design the right speaking engagement for any occasion. From building sales, the role of the retailer in helping consumers understand how their food is raised and grown, the facts about GMOs and other issues, to current consumer trends, or a variety of topics from customer service to motivation and leadership.
